The Client: A Company Focused on Performan

Frutas Eloy is a family business that has managed to evolve while staying true to its roots. For almost a century, it has been active in food distribution for the HoReCa sector, serving more than 1,000 clients with over 3,000 products. Its headquarters, strategically located in the heart of Mercamadrid, cover more than 5,000 m². The company manages a team of about 200 people and a fleet of refrigerated vehicles, supported by an organizational culture focused on efficiency, product freshness, and reliable service. This same mindset translates into the need for workspaces that reflect performance and corporate identity.

Design Concept: Architecture as a System of Relationships

The office block, spread over 376 m², is designed as an internal landscape where simplicity becomes a tool for operational clarity. The compositional strategy is based on linear volumes, bold colors, and clean geometries that engage in a balanced dialogue with natural light, brought deep into the space through carefully sized courtyards.

The choice of colors is not merely decorative; it functions as an environmental wayfinding system. Color structures the layout, establishes clear visual hierarchies, and supports both individual focus and collective interaction. Within this compositional framework, the glass partition plays a central architectural role, acting as a connective element that organizes and clarifies transitions between operational areas, meeting points, and executive offices.

Integrated Process: Sutega’s Direction and Divilux’s Technical Solutions.

The 2025 project saw the client entrust Sutega with an integrated design mandate, overseeing the entire process from conception to execution. This included the technical solutions by Divilux—a long-standing Etoile partner—developed with careful attention to construction details. As highlighted in the official documentation: ‘The combination of bold colors, modern architecture, and geometric forms has created a dynamic and contemporary environment, carefully calibrated to stimulate productivity and creativity through a comprehensive design that addresses every technical and compositional aspect.’

Construction System: Unica® SC – Technical Precision and Visual Continuity.

The technological core of the project is the Unica® SC, a single-glass partition system with aluminum profiles, dry installation, and dimensional adjustability. The SC family offers variants that allow the use of glass panels of different thicknesses, enabling precise calibration of rigidity, visual continuity, and acoustic performance according to the design requirements.

The system elegantly integrates vertical cabling through accessible technical modules, preserving the clean appearance of the glass façade. Multiple intersections and compatibility with both swing and sliding doors ensure compositional continuity even at openings.

The result is a minimal and precise solution, designed to create long sightlines and define sharp visual cuts, maintaining formal coherence across all configurations.

Environmental Integration: Comfort and Spatial Performance.

In the specific layout of Frutas Eloy, Unica® SC becomes the transparent framework that creates soft thresholds between spaces. Light passes through the glass fronts, courtyards distribute uniform luminance, and operational areas maintain constant visual contact with social zones, promoting collaboration and workflow oversight.

The acoustic strategy follows a ‘layered’ logic: the single-glass partition ensures compositional continuity and lightness, while targeted absorptive elements in collaborative areas reduce background reverberation without breaking the spatial perception. Continuous flooring and highly saturated color finishes stabilize the reading of the spaces, reinforcing the company’s identity with a contemporary approach
