PET E.Silent

E.Silent: Shaping Sound, Defining Space

Textures, three-dimensional geometries and 21 colours: Etoile’s PET acoustic system offers architects and designers a versatile material to interpret, combine and customise.

A wall can become a graphic composition. A ceiling can transform into a sequence of suspended waves. A perforated partition can define a space while allowing light to pass through. With E.Silent, acoustic design takes shape through choices that engage both the eye and the way we experience a space. Etoile’s new system invites architects and designers to explore the expressive potential of PET, bringing acoustic comfort into the creative process.

This freedom of design can be applied across a wide range of settings, from offices and meeting rooms to bars and restaurants, hotel lobbies, lounges and guest rooms. Advanced production areas, research laboratories, technology hubs, schools, hospitals, gyms, cultural and retail spaces, as well as residential interiors, can also integrate acoustic elements, with configurations designed around the activities taking place and the specific acoustic requirements of each environment.

Made from PET containing 60% post-consumer recycled material sourced from plastic bottles, the panels absorb part of the sound energy and help control reverberation indoors. Six collections offer solutions for walls, ceilings and spatial organisation: clean, essential surfaces, engraved patterns and three-dimensional forms become design tools for defining the character and identity of an interior.

Composing Space

Modular Ceilings introduces Tabula, Linear, Mountain, Cloud and Matrix for modular ceilings, ranging from flat panels to three-dimensional elements. Within the Baffles collection, Linear defines the rhythm of the ceiling, Mountain adds movement to its profile, Cloud creates flowing waves and Matrix builds interwoven patterns. Surface extends these geometries into the surrounding space through Linear, Mountain, Cloud and Matrix configurations. Space introduces a circular grid, while Beam draws inspiration from the shape of a structural beam.

Ceiling Elements brings PET into the space: Block takes the form of a suspended monolith, Island reinterprets the coffered ceiling, Flower offers four soft, rounded shapes, while Snake develops an organic horizontal geometry in two lengths. The Wings screens, available in 21 patterns, together with Veil, help divide and organise spaces.

The Objects range brings the material closer to everyday activities. Screen Line organises interiors with freestanding screens, also available on castors, while Desk structures workstations with dividers for benches and individual desks. Tray is a document holder, while Core transforms production offcuts into accessories for organising the space.

The Freedom to Customise

Customisation extends this approach to the individual project. In collaboration with Etoile’s technical department, shapes, dimensions, textures and patterns can be developed to meet specific requirements. A geometry can emerge from the architecture of a place, a pattern can reflect its identity, and a composition can respond to a particular need. E.Silent gives architects, designers and contractors a material through which to express their vision: acoustic comfort takes the shape imagined by the project.

Surfaces, Colours and Volumes

Tabula brings out the material character of PET; Line defines it through grooves of different widths, while Beat varies the spacing between them. Grid creates geometric patterns, while Tile introduces an offset arrangement. Orbit and Radial explore the circle; Petal and Leaf reinterpret forms inspired by nature. The arches of Bow, the pattern of Brick, the soft shapes of Capsule, the diamonds of Diamond and the interwoven geometry of Octagon further expand the possibilities of the design.

Comb’s slats give depth to the wall, Block introduces monolithic volumes, while Moon creates three-dimensional circular forms. Wall and Ceiling translate these treatments onto vertical and horizontal surfaces. Combining modules, changing the rhythm, creating continuity or contrast: each choice helps define the direction of the composition.

The palette of 21 colours extends this exploration. Teal and rust can create a bold combination; sage and neutral tones can contribute to a more intimate atmosphere. Colour and texture engage with furniture, light and materials: a pattern can emerge through contrast or blend subtly into the overall composition.

With E.Silent, every visual choice contributes to the acoustic quality of the space, while every sound-absorbing element becomes part of its identity. Surfaces, screens and volumes come together within a cohesive design, creating spaces shaped around the needs of those who work, meet, study or live in them. This is where Etoile’s research finds its purpose: giving sound a form to make places more liveable and the ideas of those who design them more distinctive.
