Space, in Sequence

At Decorluxe’s headquarters in Chiuduno, Unica Slim by Etoile defines offices, circulation areas and shared spaces through a refined composition of glass and aluminium.

As you walk down the main corridor, the eye is never confined to a single room. Instead, it takes in three or four spaces at once: a meeting room beyond an office, another corridor beyond the meeting room, reflections that extend and multiply the view. This is the immediate effect created by Unica Slim, Etoile’s partition system chosen for the interiors of Decorluxe’s headquarters in Chiuduno. It also reveals the project’s central idea: not a sequence of enclosed rooms, but a continuous space that unfolds in depth, allowing views, light and movement to flow naturally through the workplace.

From Warehouse to Corporate Headquarters

Before becoming a workplace, this space was an industrial warehouse. The office is part of a broader redevelopment and expansion project involving an existing industrial building, designed and managed by Studio ProgettoB20 of Brescia, which oversaw the architectural design, construction supervision, and health and safety coordination. The intervention included the reorganization of functions and building services as part of a comprehensive transformation of the entire production site. It is precisely in projects like this where the existing structure defines the constraints that the value of a system such as Unica Slim becomes most evident. Rather than being a finishing layer applied at the end, it acts as an architectural element that brings order, continuity, and identity to a reclaimed space, shaping a coherent and contemporary working environment.

A Minimal Language, A Continuous Background

Along the circulation paths, the offices unfold in depth. The glass partitions reveal layers of spaces, furnishings, doors and rooms beyond, creating a constantly changing perspective. The dark profiles guide this progression and bring continuity to the overall interior design: the perception shifts with every step, while maintaining a strong visual coherence. Throughout the workplace, the language remains clean and minimal. White defines walls, storage elements and horizontal surfaces, while black outlines frames, doors and bases. A mineral flooring creates a continuous background that connects the different areas. Against this neutral foundation, a few distinctive elements stand out: the spherical pendant lights suspended in the double-height space, the bold geometric staircase, and the leather-coloured seating in the lounge area. Each detail adds character without interrupting the overall sense of balance and simplicity.

The System: Glass, Aluminium, Precision

Unica Slim becomes an integral part of this design language. The single-glazed system, available with 10 or 12 mm glass panels and slim extruded aluminium profiles, creates partitions with a precise and defined geometric appearance.

At floor and ceiling level, along wall connections and around door frames, the profiles follow the layout of the interiors with continuity. At the same time, they accommodate the dimensional variations of a renovated building, ensuring accurate alignment and a precise connection with the existing walls. This is a crucial aspect in refurbishment projects, where the conditions of an existing structure often present challenges that differ from those of a newly built space. Here, precision is not only a matter of aesthetics, but also a way of integrating new elements into a pre-existing architectural context.

Black as a Design Line

In the Decorluxe project, the black profiles take on the role of a construction line. They define the perimeter of the offices, mark the entrances, follow the corners and continue along the corridors, creating a dialogue with the table structures, external frames and interior details. It is especially along the circulation areas that the system reveals its full design value. The partitions run alongside the corridors, opening cross views towards workstations and meeting rooms. In some areas, three or four spaces can be perceived in sequence: glass surfaces, reflections and frames create different layers of depth. The corridor is no longer just a passageway. It becomes an active part of the workplace, collecting views, guiding movement and connecting the different areas into a continuous spatial experience.

Different Functions, One Design Language

Each area maintains its own identity. Individual offices have a more intimate scale, meeting rooms are organised around large shared tables, while open workspaces follow a regular rhythm of workstations. Unica Slim adapts to these different functions while keeping the language of the partitions consistent throughout the space. Two- and three-way junctions are resolved through mechanically fixed aluminium corner elements, allowing the system to maintain visual continuity even where the layout becomes more complex. A partition system is truly tested by the way it preserves the overall design vision: connecting different spaces while maintaining a clear and coherent identity.

Light, Reflections, Identity

Light plays an equally important role in shaping the space. The large perimeter openings bring natural light deep into the interiors, while the glass surfaces extend its presence throughout the workplace. Skylights and ceiling lighting add further layers of illumination, often reflected across the transparent partitions. Within this layered visual composition, the Decorluxe graphic applied to the glass becomes a subtle element of identity. The white logo overlaps with the interiors behind it, changing its appearance according to the light conditions and blending with the surrounding geometries. The result is a space where transparency, reflections and branding coexist naturally, adding character without interrupting the overall sense of openness and continuity.

Within an Industrial Culture

This approach reflects the company’s industrial culture. Decorluxe has been operating for almost thirty years in surface finishing for luxury packaging in the perfume, cosmetics and beverage sectors, an industry where finishes, quality control and execution precision directly influence the perceived value of the final product. Within the interiors, the same attention to detail is expressed through the relationship between materials, technologies and finishes. Even technical elements are carefully integrated: a dedicated openable module within the vertical profile accommodates power points and controls, allowing the wiring to become part of the system itself rather than an element added afterwards. The result is a workplace where industrial know-how translates into a precise and coherent spatial experience, where every detail contributes to the overall quality of the environment.

The Precision of Connections

The installation carried out by Kuotazio of Brescia translates the design concept into the reality of construction: partitions, doors, furnishings, storage units and technical systems are all coordinated through precise alignments and shared dimensions. In a partition system like this, the final quality is also revealed in the details of the connections: the meeting point between glass and ceiling, between frame and floor, between partition and furniture. These transitions are where precision becomes visible, transforming technical elements into part of the overall architectural language.
